Czechia is part of both the Schengen Area and the European Union, with the same short-stay limit (90 days within any 180-day period) as the rest of the bloc for visa-exempt passports. Do you need a different visa for Prague, Brno, or Ostrava?
No. Czech Republic sets the requirements, so entering through Prague asks for the same as entering through Brno or Ostrava. If you're arriving overland or through a small border post, check that separately: some countries apply their own rules to specific crossings.
What does change is where you file the application when a visa is needed, and that depends on the country you live in rather than the city you're travelling to.
What draws travelers to Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is compact and almost all tourism enters through Prague. The capital, with its World Heritage historic centre, gathers the castle — the largest ancient castle complex in the world — the Charles Bridge and the Old Town. A couple of hours away is Český Krumlov, a medieval town on a bend of the Vltava, also World Heritage, and the spa region of Karlovy Vary, part of the "Great Spa Towns of Europe". To the north, Bohemian Switzerland and its sandstone formations; to the east, Moravia, of wine and cultural landscapes such as Lednice-Valtice. The Czech Republic has 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Four or five days cover Prague plus Český Krumlov. Spring and autumn avoid the summer crowds in Prague; the Christmas markets fill December.
