The difference between entering visa-free, with an electronic authorisation, with an e-Visa, or with a traditional visa is explained in visa, e-Visa, and electronic authorisation: what's the difference. Grenada rules for every passport

Vaccinations, customs limits and penalties are the same for every traveller.

Vaccinations

  • Yellow fever: border police ask for the certificate from travellers arriving from a country with risk of transmission.

Customs limits

Alcohol
For arrivals at Maurice Bishop airport, duty-free: 1 litre of wine or 1 litre of spirits, 30 centilitres of perfume and other goods up to 300 Eastern Caribbean dollars. Fruit and vegetables may not be brought in.
Tobacco
200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.

Overstay penalties

Overstaying or working without a work permit is illegal, according to the UK Government. The amount of the penalties could not be confirmed against Grenadian law.

Grounds for refusal

  • No return ticket.
  • A passport with less than six months' validity or no blank page.
  • Arriving from a yellow fever risk country without the certificate.

Travel insurance

Each destination decides whether to require insurance, and some check it at the border. If yours does, make sure the policy covers the whole trip.

Do you need a different visa for St. George’s, Gouyave, or Grenville?

No. Grenada sets the requirements, so entering through St. George’s asks for the same as entering through Gouyave or Grenville. If you're arriving overland or through a small border post, check that separately: some countries apply their own rules to specific crossings.

What does change is where you file the application when a visa is needed, and that depends on the country you live in rather than the city you're travelling to.

What draws travellers to Grenada

Grenada has no properties on the World Heritage List. It is an island in the southern Lesser Antilles, and most trips revolve around its beaches and the sea. Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises travelling with caution: it asks travellers to avoid lonely places, especially at night, and to stay alert around New Year and the August carnival, when crime rises. The hurricane season runs from June to November.
