Saint Vincent and the Grenadines rules for every passport
Vaccinations, customs limits and penalties are the same for every traveller.
Vaccinations
- Yellow fever: border police may ask for the certificate from travellers arriving from a country with risk of transmission.
Customs limits
- Cash
- There is no limit on bringing currency in or out, but anything above 10,000 Eastern Caribbean dollars must be declared.
- Alcohol
- Duty-free: a quarter of a litre of wine or spirits, according to Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Tobacco
- 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars, or half a pound of tobacco (about 230 grams).
Overstay penalties
Overstaying or working without a work permit is illegal, according to the UK Government. The amount of the penalties could not be confirmed against national law.
Grounds for refusal
- No return ticket.
- A passport with less than six months' validity or no blank page.
- Arriving from a yellow fever risk country without the certificate.
Travel insurance
Each destination decides whether to require insurance, and some check it at the border. If yours does, make sure the policy covers the whole trip.

Do you need a different visa for Kingstown, Bequia, or Mustique?
No. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines sets the requirements, so entering through Kingstown asks for the same as entering through Bequia or Mustique. If you're arriving overland or through a small border post, check that separately: some countries apply their own rules to specific crossings.
What does change is where you file the application when a visa is needed, and that depends on the country you live in rather than the city you're travelling to.
What draws travellers to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has no properties on the World Heritage List. The country is the volcanic island of Saint Vincent and the chain of small Grenadine islands, and many trips involve sailing between them or staying on islands such as Bequia or Mustique. Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs flags no risk areas, but recommends checking official sources before going near La Soufrière volcano. The hurricane season runs from June to November.
