Entry requirements

Lesotho visa requirements for Palestinian citizens

Palestinian citizens need a visa for Lesotho and must apply for it before the trip at a consulate or embassy.

Minimum passport validity
30 days after departure

Verified practical details

You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:

Authorisation system

Electronic visa (eVisa), suspended

Lesotho's Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended its eVisa application system. While it is down, applications are sent by email to VISA-Applications.Immigration@gov.ls. Lesotho is surrounded by South Africa, so getting there also means meeting South Africa's entry requirements.

Required documents

  • Passport valid for at least 30 days after the date you leave Lesotho.
  • Blank pages for stamps: Spain's Foreign Ministry asks for at least two, and the UK Government recommends four because both Lesotho and South Africa stamp the passport.
  • A visa granted before travel, requested by email from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Transit rules

Traffic drives on the left and an international driving permit is required; limits are 100 km/h on motorways and 65 km/h in towns. Spain's Foreign Ministry advises against local taxis and minibuses and against driving at night. Flights to Maseru depend on connections from Johannesburg and have been interrupted without notice. Trafficking, possessing or using drugs, soft drugs included, carries a minimum of three years in prison.
