Verified practical details
You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:
With a passport from Spain
Niger has no embassy or consulates in Spain, so it is requested from its Embassy in Brussels, a month or three weeks ahead.
Authorisation system
Visa from the Embassy of Niger in Brussels
A visa is compulsory and cannot be obtained at the airport or a land border; airlines will not board anyone without one. With an invitation from a resident, that person can request a 'visa volant' from the Directorate General of the National Police. A valid visa is also needed to leave the country, and on landing in Niamey travellers must carry the application documents and the authorities' approval.
Required documents
- Passport with more than six months' validity.
- A visa obtained before travel and the documents supporting the application.
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate.
Transit rules
Travel plans must be reported to the security forces and civil authorities and the itinerary respected; some routes may require a military escort. Spain's Foreign Ministry advises against road travel outside Niamey, night driving, unpaved tracks and buses and shared taxis, and recommends carrying a satellite phone. According to the UK Government, passports are sometimes held for several days in security checks on arrival.

They don't depend on your passport, so they are on the Niger page:
