How this visa is processed
Visa section of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Pakistan (House No. 24, Street No. 18, F-6/2, Islamabad), with prior submission by email
A Pakistani needs a visa for Argentina. The Argentine Embassy in Islamabad asks for the scanned application with all documents to be emailed at least 45 days in advance; late or incomplete applications are not processed. The visa section is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00. The tourist visa requires, among other documents, the form printed on three separate sheets, six months of bank statements stamped by the bank, the flight itinerary and transport within Argentina, a hotel booking secured by credit card and a request letter with the trip plan. The interview with the consul is mandatory by law, and the non-refundable USD 150 fee is paid after the email confirming the interview arrives. The tourist visa can be applied for at any Argentine embassy or consulate, not only in the country of residence.

Verified practical details
You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:
Authorisation system
AVE: Electronic Travel Authorisation
The AVE is the electronic route that Argentina's National Migration Directorate offers to nationals of more than seventy countries who would otherwise need a tourist visa. Nationality alone is not enough: you must also hold a valid US visa in category B2, J, B1, O, P (P1, P2 or P3), E or H-1B, or show that you entered the United States within the previous two years. Once issued it is valid for three consecutive months, allows multiple entries and exits, and can be extended for a further equal period.

Required documents
- A valid passport, or a valid identity card or travel document from your country of origin
- If you are a national of Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay or Uruguay (Mercosur member states) or of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Peru or Suriname (associated states), you may enter as a tourist without a visa for up to 90 days on your identity document
- The authorised tourist stay is up to three months, extendable for a further equal period. Entering as a tourist does not entitle you to paid work
