Verified practical details

You can get your visa on arrival in Zimbabwe, but it's worth preparing the paperwork ahead of time:

Authorisation system

Visa on arrival or e-Visa; KAZA Univisa for Zimbabwe and Zambia

The tourist visa is for 30 days, extendable twice up to a maximum of three months at the Immigration Office in Harare. It is obtained at an air or land border or online before travel. The multiple-entry visa is not issued at the border. Bring dollars in small notes. The KAZA Univisa, 50 dollars for 30 days, covers travel between Zimbabwe and Zambia and day trips into Botswana, and is available at Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls airports and at the Victoria Falls and Kazungula crossings. The Zimbabwean Embassy in London no longer issues visas.

Transit rules

Entering without a visa, or staying on a visa that does not match the real purpose of the stay, for example working or volunteering on a tourist visa, can bring a fine and even prison; volunteering and missionary work require a temporary work permit. Journalists need prior accreditation. To enter Victoria Falls National Park you may need to show your passport, because foreigners pay 50 dollars and residents 7.
