How this visa is processed
Algerian consulates in Spain (Consular Section of the Embassy in Madrid, Consulate General in Barcelona and Consulate General in Alicante)
A Spanish passport needs a visa to enter Algeria, even for tourism: the exception among the usual destinations. It is filed in person and by prior appointment at the Algerian consulate for your place of residence: the Consular Section of the Embassy in Madrid (Madrid, both Castiles, Extremadura, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Canary Islands, among others), the Consulate General in Barcelona (Catalonia, the Balearics, Aragon, Navarre, the Basque Country, La Rioja and Burgos) and the Consulate General in Alicante (Valencian Community, Andalusia, Murcia, Ceuta and Melilla). The tourist visa fee is €95 for those over 12. Travel insurance with medical assistance and repatriation is not optional: it is a mandatory document to be granted the visa, and must cover Algeria with a minimum validity of one month. The passport must have at least six months' validity. Postal applications are not accepted.
