The legal limit is 50 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, and police run random checks, with fines or prison. Anyone entering in a foreign-registered vehicle pays a road fund levy at the border (150 emalangeni for a car and 80 for a motorcycle, according to the UK Government) and must carry the receipt. The 13 border posts usually open from 6:00 to 18:00.
