Verified practical details

You don't need a visa to enter Philippines, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:

Authorisation system

Visa waiver under Executive Order 408 (30 days, extendable)

Under EO 408 and DFA Foreign Service Circular (FSC) 95-2014, most nationalities (including the Americas and Western Europe) enter visa-free for up to 30 days. Department of Justice Circular No. 032 (2015) requires a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival and a return or onward ticket: with a closed list of 41 nationalities exempted from the 6-month rule (US, UK, Australia, most of the EU, Japan, Korea, Israel, Singapore, Turkey and others) provided their embassy in Manila can renew the passport. Every arriving passenger, with exceptions such as diplomats, must register on eTravel (etravel.gov.ph) within the 72 hours before arrival. Registration is free of charge.

Fee

Free

Visa-free entry itself is free. The first extension, of 29 days (up to 59 in total), costs PHP 2,130 through the regular lane and PHP 3,130 through the express lane, according to the fee schedule in the Bureau of Immigration main office's 2026 citizen's charter. The summary in that same document gives slightly higher totals (PHP 2,160 and 4,160), so the final amount is confirmed at payment.

Processing time

Visa-free entry is granted at passport control. According to the Bureau of Immigration main office's 2026 citizen's charter, the first 29-day extension takes 1 hour and 4 minutes through the express lane and 3 working days through the regular lane.

Required documents

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival (exception for 41 nationalities listed in Operations Order SBM-2015-026, provided their embassy in Manila can renew the passport).
  • Return ticket or ticket onward to another destination.
  • Mandatory, free eTravel registration (etravel.gov.ph) within the 72 hours before arrival.
