Verified practical details
You don't need a visa to enter Morocco, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:
Required documents
- Passport valid for longer than the planned stay. For the eVisa, the passport must also be an ordinary one with at least 90 days of validity on the date of application.
- Return ticket. It is asked of travellers with an eVisa or a consular visa, and border police may require any traveller to show guarantees of their repatriation.
- Consular visa only: a hotel booking or a travel agency voucher, or a legalised invitation certificate when visiting family.
- Sufficient means of support, which border police may check with any traveller. eVisa holders are asked for an international bank card or the equivalent of more than 70 euros in cash per person per day of stay; for the consular visa, a bank statement.
Health insurance
Not mandatory for this destination.
When travel insurance is mandatory → Travel insurance policies ↓Transit rules
Morocco's transit visa authorises you to cross the country's territory on the way to a third State. It is issued for one or two transits, and the stay for each may not exceed 72 hours. In exceptional cases the security services may issue short-stay and transit visas at the border post itself. One limitation to keep in mind before entering: once inside Morocco, changing the type of visa already obtained is not allowed.
