How this visa is processed

Taiwan e-Visa (if the conditions are met); otherwise the Taipei Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara or the Taipei office in Moscow

Kazakhs need a visa for Taiwan, but in some cases can apply for it online as an e-Visa. From 31 March 2026 to 31 March 2027 Kazakhstan is on the e-Visa list with one condition: holding a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, or a US residence permit or visa valid for more than 180 days. The condition does not apply to people invited by a Taiwan central government agency or to a conference or event it organises or sponsors; in that case the agency requests a code for the applicant. The e-Visa is paid only by Mastercard, Visa or JCB. Those who do not qualify must apply at a Taiwan office abroad; for Kazakhstan, the Bureau of Consular Affairs refers applicants to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara and the Taipei office in Moscow.

Verified practical details

You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:

Required documents

  • Passport valid for more than six months from entry. Without that, entry is refused.
  • A ticket out of Taiwan to any destination: the authorities usually ask for it on arrival, except from residence card (ARC) holders.
  • Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) submitted online within the three days before arrival.

Transit rules

Anyone who stays beyond the time granted is fined and may be deported, with possible restrictions on re-entry. Taiwan is in a highly seismic zone: the magnitude 7.4 earthquake near Hualien on 3 April 2024 caused landslides in Taroko National Park, which has only partly reopened. Typhoons are frequent from June to October.
