Verified practical details
You don't need a visa to enter Fiji, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:
Authorisation system
Visitor permit on arrival, for up to four months
Visa-exempt travellers receive a stay permit of up to four months on arrival, provided they show an onward ticket dated before the end of that period and, if needed, the visa for their next destination. Business trips need a specific business visitor permit, valid for 21 days. To stay longer than four months you must apply for a visa at the Immigration Department, and Spain's Foreign Ministry recommends contacting it at least a month before the authorised stay ends. Yachts can only enter through Suva, Lautoka, Savusavu and Levuka.
Required documents
- Passport valid for at least six months beyond the planned date of departure from Fiji.
- A ticket out of the country, dated before the end of the authorised stay.
- A valid visa for the next destination, if needed.
- An arrival card filled in carefully, declaring every item subject to quarantine, including camping equipment.
Transit rules
The visa-free stay is up to four months. The cyclone season runs from November to April, and the country lies in a seismic zone, with risk of earthquakes and tsunamis. Flying drones requires prior authorisation. Bringing pets needs a prior permit and may involve quarantine of up to thirty days.
