How this visa is processed
Online e-Visa (visa.mfa.gov.ua) or visa at the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico
A Mexican needs a visa for Ukraine and has two routes. The first is the e-Visa, applied for on the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's portal: single or double entry, for stays of up to 30 days, at 20 US dollars (single entry) or 30 (double entry), processed in 3 working days or 1 if double the fee is paid. The second is a visa from the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico or the Ukrainian embassy closest to home: 65 US dollars with a maximum of 10 working days, or 130 dollars for urgent processing, with a maximum of 5. Either way, medical insurance of at least 30,000 euros covering Ukraine is required, and some international policies exclude the country. At entry, travellers may be asked to show between 100 and 150 US dollars per day of stay.

Verified practical details
The visa is applied for before your trip, and the procedure is Ukraine e-Visa. Here are the verified details:
Authorisation system
Ukraine e-Visa
The electronic visa is applied for on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. The decision arrives by email as a PDF, whether it is granted or refused. There is an urgent procedure for which the fee doubles.

Fee
65 USD
Basic consular fee for nationalities that DO need a visa (per Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs): US$65 for regular processing, double for urgent processing. The e-Visa (electronic visa, where the nationality qualifies) costs US$20 for a single entry and US$30 for a double entry, paid online, and double that under the urgent procedure. Non-refundable if refused. Visa-exempt nationalities pay no entry fee.
Processing time
An e-Visa is decided within three working days under the standard procedure, or one under the urgent procedure, which costs twice as much. Within that period you receive a PDF by email with either the visa granted or the refusal decision.
Required documents
- Passport valid for the whole stay.
- Travel medical insurance valid in Ukraine, with a minimum coverage of €30,000, from an insurer registered in Ukraine or with an agreement with one (Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Standard travel policies usually exclude armed-conflict-related events: consider one with war-risk coverage if you're going to travel.
- Proof of the purpose of the trip and, depending on the border post, accommodation booking and a return ticket or onward ticket to a third country (checks reinforced under martial law).
Transit rules
Visa-free stay of up to 90 days for exempt nationalities. The exact reference period could not be confirmed against an official source. Entry is by land only: civilian airspace has been closed since February 2022 due to the war, there are no commercial flights to or from Ukraine. Under martial law, border checks are more thorough than before the conflict.
