Verified practical details

You don't need a visa to enter Turkey, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:

Fee

The fee depends on the country and type of your travel document, and the evisa.gov.tr portal shows it once you choose your country during the application. The only fee table the Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes ("Country fees for e-Visa" PDF) is dated 10 November 2014, so we give no figure.

Required documents

  • A travel document valid for at least 60 days beyond the duration of stay granted by your visa, e-Visa, visa exemption or residence permit. Holders of diplomatic or official passports, and citizens of the countries whose nationals may enter Türkiye with their national identity card, are exempt from this rule
  • In practice, to enter on a 90-day permitted stay your passport must be valid for 150 days at the moment of entry (90 + 60)
  • A valid visa or e-Visa, if your nationality requires one

Health insurance

Not mandatory for this destination.

Transit rules

The permitted stay depends on nationality. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sets it country by country: many visa exemptions allow 90 days in any 180-day period, but others stop at 30 days, and the e-Visa may last three months or one month depending on the passport.

Travel insurance for Turkey

It isn't listed as mandatory for this entry, but without insurance, medical care during the trip can get expensive.
