Transit rules

Spain's Foreign Ministry advises against public transport (tap-taps and motorbike taxis), travelling on foot and going out after dark. It recommends having someone trusted meet you at the airport, travelling by car with doors locked and with a driver, carrying a photocopy of the passport and leaving the original somewhere safe, and refilling the tank once it drops below half, because fuel is scarce.
