Verified practical details

You don't need a visa to enter Antigua and Barbuda, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:

Authorisation system

Digital immigration and customs form (ICF)

Before arrival you complete a digital immigration and customs form, no more than 72 hours ahead, and it can only be done on a phone or tablet. The QR code you receive is checked on entry and on exit. Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes it as compulsory; the UK Government recommends it to speed up entry without calling it compulsory, so the safe choice is to have it done. Extensions of stay are requested and paid for at the Immigration Department. The departure tax is usually included in the ticket, but check on regional flights.

Required documents

  • Passport valid for at least six months from arrival, with one blank page for the entry stamp.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • Confirmed accommodation booking or letter of invitation.
  • Sufficient funds for the stay.
  • Minors must meet the same requirements as adults and also carry the parental consent required by the local authorities.

Transit rules

Travellers who meet the requirements are given an initial stay of three months, unless their return ticket is earlier, in which case the stay runs to the ticket date. After that an extension can be requested. If the trip there or back goes through another country, its entry or transit rules also apply. Camouflage clothing may not be worn, including by children. The hurricane season runs from June to November, most active from August to October.
