Verified practical details

You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:

Authorisation system

Online immigration form before arrival

All travellers complete an online immigration form no more than three days before arrival. Anyone who has not done so must fill in the electronic form on arrival or a paper one, if available. Make sure the border officer stamps your passport, since the stamps are used to check that nobody overstays. Extensions of stay are requested at the Immigration Department in Castries. There is a departure tax of 68 Eastern Caribbean dollars (26 US dollars), which agencies usually include in the ticket price.

Required documents

  • Passport valid for at least six months.
  • Return ticket: without one, entry is refused.
  • Online immigration form, completed no more than three days before arrival.

Transit rules

The permitted stay depends on the passport: EU citizens need no visa for tourist stays of under three months, and British citizens are given six weeks. Importing or wearing camouflage clothing, including casual wear, is banned, with fines and confiscation. Sailors must report to the controller of the port of arrival on the same day. The hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, most active from August to October, and the island lies in a seismic and volcanic zone.
