Verified practical details
You don't need a visa to enter Uganda, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:
Transit rules
To stay longer than granted, you must request an extension from the Immigration Department, which has its own portal for it. At Entebbe airport only ticketed passengers may enter the terminal, so anyone meeting you waits outside. Since 27 May the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been closed because of Ebola, with limited exceptions, and some countries apply health screening to travellers arriving from Uganda.
More Uganda rules
They don't depend on your passport, so they are on the Uganda page:
Official portal: https://www.immigration.go.ug/. Destination data verified on 23 September 2026.
