Authorisation system
Online travel form (Mauritius All in One)
On arrival the border officer stamps the end date of the permitted stay in the passport. Before travelling you complete the "Mauritius All in One" form online, which produces a PDF with a QR code that is best carried printed; anyone who does not have it fills in a disembarkation card on arrival. Some airlines ask for an accommodation booking or a letter of invitation before boarding. EU citizens need no visa for short stays of up to 90 days.
Apply on the official site →Required documents
- Passport valid for more than six months (the UK Government only asks for it to be valid for the stay with one blank page). Mauritius detects and refuses passports reported lost that travellers try to use again.
- Return or onward ticket.
- "Mauritius All in One" form with its QR code, printed.
- Accommodation booking or letter of invitation, which some airlines require before boarding.
Transit rules
Foreign nationals without a work, residence, business or student permit who have been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or South Sudan in the previous 21 days cannot enter, because of the Ebola outbreak; others coming from there must quarantine for 21 days. The cyclone season runs from November to April and flash floods are common.
