Entry requirements

What you need to enter Turkey with a Taiwanese passport

Taiwanese citizens need an electronic visa for Turkey, applied for online before the trip.

Minimum passport validity
60 days beyond the stay

Why is this passport validity required? →

Verified practical details

The visa is applied for before your trip, and the procedure is e-Visa (evisa.gov.tr). Here are the verified details:

Authorisation system

e-Visa (evisa.gov.tr)

Electronic visa for tourism or business, obtained at evisa.gov.tr. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sets the type of e-Visa by nationality: for some passports it is a three-month multiple-entry visa, for others a one-month single-entry one, and some nationalities may only apply if they hold a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the United States, the United Kingdom or Ireland. It is only needed by the nationalities that Türkiye requires to hold a visa and accepts through this system.

Fee

The fee depends on the country and type of your travel document, and the evisa.gov.tr portal shows it once you choose your country during the application. The only fee table the Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes ("Country fees for e-Visa" PDF) is dated 10 November 2014, so we give no figure.

Processing time

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the e-Visa is obtained online in about three minutes, after entering your passport and travel details and paying the fee.

Required documents

  • A travel document valid for at least 60 days beyond the duration of stay granted by your visa, e-Visa, visa exemption or residence permit. Holders of diplomatic or official passports, and citizens of the countries whose nationals may enter Türkiye with their national identity card, are exempt from this rule
  • In practice, to enter on a 90-day permitted stay your passport must be valid for 150 days at the moment of entry (90 + 60)
  • A valid visa or e-Visa, if your nationality requires one

Health insurance

Not mandatory for this destination.

Transit rules

The permitted stay depends on nationality. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sets it country by country: many visa exemptions allow 90 days in any 180-day period, but others stop at 30 days, and the e-Visa may last three months or one month depending on the passport.

Travel insurance for Turkey

It isn't listed as mandatory for this entry, but without insurance, medical care during the trip can get expensive.
