How this visa is processed
Taipei Representative Office in Poland (30th floor, ul. Emilii Plater 53, Warsaw), by appointment
Ukrainians need a visa for Taiwan and are not on the list of nationalities with access to Taiwan's e-Visa. Taiwan has no office in Ukraine: the Bureau of Consular Affairs refers Ukrainians to the Taipei Representative Office in Poland or the one in Moscow. At the Warsaw office, anyone who is not a citizen of a Schengen country must hold a valid Polish residence card. The single-entry tourist visa is applied for in person, with an appointment booked at tro-tajwanu.appointlet.com. Applicants bring the form filled in online at visawebapp.boca.gov.tw and printed, a passport valid for at least six months from entry, two recent photos, the original bank statement (the office asks for a scan by email before booking), a signed itinerary, the return ticket and a hotel booking or the host's invitation with a copy of their ID. Documents in other languages must be translated into English or Chinese by a sworn translator. Applications are made no earlier than one month before travel and are usually decided in seven calendar days; the fee is paid in zloty.

Verified practical details
You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:
Required documents
- Passport valid for more than six months from entry. Without that, entry is refused.
- A ticket out of Taiwan to any destination: the authorities usually ask for it on arrival, except from residence card (ARC) holders.
- Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) submitted online within the three days before arrival.
Transit rules
Anyone who stays beyond the time granted is fined and may be deported, with possible restrictions on re-entry. Taiwan is in a highly seismic zone: the magnitude 7.4 earthquake near Hualien on 3 April 2024 caused landslides in Taroko National Park, which has only partly reopened. Typhoons are frequent from June to October.
