Verified practical details

You don't need a visa to enter Zimbabwe, but here are some practical details worth knowing before you travel:

Required documents

  • Passport valid for at least six months from the visa date, with three blank pages. ID cards are not accepted.
  • Anyone connecting in South Africa with children must carry the full birth certificate translated into English and, if a parent is absent, their consent made before a notary or the police.

Transit rules

Entering without a visa, or staying on a visa that does not match the real purpose of the stay, for example working or volunteering on a tourist visa, can bring a fine and even prison; volunteering and missionary work require a temporary work permit. Journalists need prior accreditation. To enter Victoria Falls National Park you may need to show your passport, because foreigners pay 50 dollars and residents 7.
