Entry requirements

Argentina visa requirements for Egyptian citizens

Egyptian citizens need a visa for Argentina and must apply for it before the trip at a consulate or embassy.

Consular fee
150 USD
Minimum passport validity
No minimum: it just has to be valid

How this visa is processed

Consular Section of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Egypt (Cairo), with a prior request by email

An Egyptian needs a visa for Argentina in every category, and the Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE) does not apply, even with a visa from another country. The application is personal and handled only by email with the Consular Section of the Argentine Embassy in Cairo (consular_eegip@mrecic.gov.ar): the form is filled in by computer, the originals are gathered and the email is sent six to eight weeks before travel. Once the documents are checked, the embassy sets an appointment; on that day the originals are handed in, a slip is issued to pay the fee and the mandatory interview takes place, with the current and previous passports. The fee is USD 150, paid in Egyptian pounds at the exchange rate of the appointment day, and is not refundable. No transfer should be made before the embassy says so. Documents in other languages are translated into Spanish, and the application expires 90 days after payment.

Verified practical details

You'll need to apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy before travelling. Here are the practical details we've verified:

Authorisation system

AVE: Electronic Travel Authorisation

The AVE is the electronic route that Argentina's National Migration Directorate offers to nationals of more than seventy countries who would otherwise need a tourist visa. Nationality alone is not enough: you must also hold a valid US visa in category B2, J, B1, O, P (P1, P2 or P3), E or H-1B, or show that you entered the United States within the previous two years. Once issued it is valid for three consecutive months, allows multiple entries and exits, and can be extended for a further equal period.

  • If you are a national of Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay or Uruguay (Mercosur member states) or of Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Peru or Suriname (associated states), you may enter as a tourist without a visa for up to 90 days on your identity document
